Contractor & Visitor Management Policy

Purpose

To ensure contractors and visitors are managed safely while on site and that [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] meets its duty of care obligations to all persons on site.

Scope

All contractors, subcontractors, service technicians, sales representatives, visitors, and customers at [YOUR BUSINESS NAME].

Contractor Requirements

Before commencing work, all contractors must:

  1. Complete the Visitor/Contractor Induction (Section 2 of this portal).
  2. Provide evidence of:
- Public liability insurance (minimum $10 million)

- Workers' compensation insurance

- Relevant licences and qualifications (e.g., electrical licence, forklift licence)

- Their own WHS management system or safe work procedures

  1. Sign in at the office and obtain a visitor pass.
  2. Be escorted to their work area by a [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] representative.

Visitor Requirements

All visitors must:

  1. Report to the office/reception upon arrival.
  2. Complete the Visitor Sign-In Form (FORM-009).
  3. Receive a site safety briefing (verbal or via the portal).
  4. Be escorted at all times unless specifically authorised to move independently.
  5. Wear required PPE (safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat) in the warehouse and yard.

Restricted Areas

The following areas are restricted to authorised persons only:

  • Forklift operating areas
  • Container unloading zone
  • Workshop area
  • Chemical storage area
  • Electrical switchroom
  • Contractor Register

    All contractors are recorded in the Contractor Register (REG-012). This register tracks contractor details, insurance, licences, and induction status.
