Emergency Preparedness & Response Policy

Purpose

To ensure [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and to minimise harm to persons and property.

Scope

All workers, contractors, visitors, and customers at [YOUR BUSINESS NAME].

Emergency Types Covered

  • Fire and explosion
  • Medical emergency
  • Chemical spill
  • Severe weather (storms, flooding)
  • Armed robbery / security threat
  • Bomb threat
  • Structural failure (racking collapse)
  • Emergency Response Plan

    A complete Emergency Response Plan is maintained and available in Section 8 of this portal. All workers must be familiar with its contents.

    Key Requirements

    1. Emergency contacts are posted at all workstations and on the portal homepage.
    2. Emergency wardens are appointed and trained. Warden list is posted at the emergency assembly point.
    3. Evacuation drills are conducted at least annually.
    4. Assembly point is clearly marked and known to all workers.
    5. First aid facilities are maintained and accessible.
    6. Fire equipment is inspected and maintained in accordance with AS 1851.

    Notifiable Incidents

    Any emergency that results in a death, serious injury, or dangerous incident must be reported to WorkSafe Queensland immediately: 1300 362 128.
