Purpose

[YOUR BUSINESS NAME] is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all workers, contractors, visitors, and any other persons who may be affected by our work activities. This policy statement sets out our commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) as a core business value.

Our Commitment

The Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) at [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] commits to:

  1. Providing and maintaining a work environment that is without risks to health and safety, so far as is reasonably practicable.
  2. Providing and maintaining safe plant, structures, and systems of work.
  3. Ensuring the safe use, handling, and storage of plant, structures, and substances.
  4. Providing adequate facilities for the welfare of workers.
  5. Providing information, training, instruction, and supervision necessary to protect all persons from risks to their health and safety.
  6. Monitoring the health of workers and conditions at the workplace for the purpose of preventing illness or injury.
  7. Consulting with workers on matters that may affect their health and safety.
  8. Complying with all requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), and all relevant Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

PCBU / Management must ensure WHS obligations are met and resources are allocated for safety. Managers and Supervisors must implement this policy within their areas of responsibility and ensure workers are trained and supervised. All Workers must take reasonable care for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others, comply with reasonable instructions, and cooperate with WHS policies and procedures.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually, or following any significant incident, change in legislation, or change in business operations.
